Education and Our school

School attendance is compulsory at the age of 6 or 7 till 15. Schools are mainly state schools, but there are also church and private schools. Attendance at state schools is free of charge and provide the same kind of education with the possibility of the enrolling at universities. Handicapped children are educated separately. School fees in private schools range from 5 000 to 12 000 crowns a year.

Pre- school education begins at the age of one year when children may attend crèches until the age of tree. But usually the m

Collective security

Collective security is a type of coalition in which a group of nations agrees not to attack each other and to defend each other against an attack from one of the others and is a system aspiring to maintain peace. Any threat towards one member state or to the peace should concern all participating states and will result in a collective response.

Once the international balance of power started to be perceived by many nations as no longer working correctly, they developed the idea of collective security. The term "

CPU termalna špecifikacia Intel Pentium 4

Systems using Pentium 4 processors all require thermal management. This document assumes a general knowledge of and experience with system operation, integration, and thermal management. Integrators who follow the recommendations presented can provide their customers with more reliable systems and will see fewer customers returning with thermal management issues. (The term "boxed Intel Pentium 4 processors" refers to processors packaged for use by system integrators.)

May - Karel Hynek Mácha

1
Late evening, on the first of May—
The twilit May—the time of love.
Meltingly called the turtle-dove,
Where rich and sweet pinewoods lay.
Whispered of love the mosses frail,
The flowering tree as sweetly lied,
The rose's fragrant sigh replied
To love-songs of the nightingale.
In shadowy woods the burnished lake
Darkly complained a secret pain,
By circling shores embraced again;
And heaven's clear sun leaned down to take
A road astray in az

Czech Republic

On the territory of today’s Czech Republic and other states, there were German tribes up to the 5th century AD. Then the Slavonic tribes started coming from the east and reached the area of the Czech Republic in the 6th century.

In the 7th century Sámo’s empire arose. Sámo was a Franc merchant who became the ruler of the Slavonic tribes. After his death his empire fell apart.

Famous Czech princes, like Přemysl and Libuše, lived and ruled between the 7th and the 9th century.

My favourite American author

John Ernst Steinbeck

John Steinbeck was born in Salinas, California in 1902 and visited Stanford University intermittently (přerušovaně) between 1920 and 1926. Steinbeck did not graduate from Stanford, but instead chose to support himself through manual labor while writing. His experiences among the working classes in California lent authenticity to his depiction of the lives of the workers who are the central characters of his most important novels. Steinbeck spent much of his life in Monterey County (hrabství), which later w

My favourite British Writer

Every nation has its own culture and its part is also literature. Literature has developed for many many years. A typical attribute of British literature is pronounced tendency towards realism. Its writers were quite successful in using humour, irony and satire.
There are many famous British writers and the most famous is Shakespeare, I think. But I´d like to speak about other one – Tolkien. I love his books because they are almost like fairy tales. We often use it for making games for little girls in scout camps.

Democracy, tyranny and socialism

During the revolutionary times, as was the end of the eighteenth century and the middle of the nineteenth century in Europe, there were many writers who wrote about purposes of revolutions, why they were good or bad and they tried to explain them. There were two opposing views in the world- liberals and socialists, and they both saw a revolution as a mean to get freedom, and the way to establish democracy. Liberals wanted the individuals to be politically freed from government control, they were concerned with the political democracy. On the ot

Dependancy theory

Compare and contrast the nationalist and socialist strategies of delinking proposed by the dependency theorists. Discuss in detail Alex Nove’s criticism of the socialist alternative.

Dependency theory first emerged in the 1950’s as a critique of the modernization theory. Number of researches found that the wealth of poor nations tended to decrease when the wealth of rich nations increased. And the dependency theory explains why: it states that the lack of economical development in many developing countries was caused by the tr

NATO

After the WW II States of Western Europe and North America watched the expensive policy of the USSR. They found out that the Russian system, especially the dictatorship of the Communist Party, could become dangerous for independent democratic states.
This threat stengthened with the events of years 1947-1949 (the putch in Czechoslovakia in February 1948, blockade of Berlin in April 1948). In March 1948 Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the UK signed the TREATY OF BRUSSELS. By this act

JAMES WATT (1736-1819)

James Watt didn't invent the steam engine. The first steam engine was patented in 1698, the year James Watt's father was born. James Watt improved steam engine's efficiency enormously, making them the versatile workhorse of the Industrial Revolution. In 1764 he was given a model Newcomen engine to repair. The major problem with the Newcomen engine was that three quaters of the steam was wasted in heating the cold cylinder up to 100 degrees before the steam stopped condensing and started genera
