Book was written in 1954 as caution before Cold war. I think that Time to live, time to die is one of his greatest books after All quiet on the western front, and maybe now showing us a little from reality of live in WW2 pointing on fact that nothing is untouchable. Battles can be won by strategy but strategy can only increase your chance to survive. Fortuity is unpredictable.
