POP FESTIVAL ESSAY

In a role, write the uninterrupted speech you would like to have given at the end of the meeting to discuss a proposed pop festival.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I am Ms Anna Mazánková, representing the Manor House.
My idea was, that we could have the stage and the main events on my land and the rest could be spread out to the farm lands (such as carpark, camping site, police ‘station’ and first aid tent), but since the farmers do not want to provide their land for hosting some of these things mentioned above, it is going to be a little bit more complicated to set up the festival and the land could even be overcrowded.
But as the representitive of the Department of Environment, Mr Bryan, has said, we could arrange a ‘park and ride’ system, so our village would be protected at least from pollution, traffic jams and damage to the roads, which I think would be enough to enable us to hold the festival.
I would also like to raise the fact, that even though you are worried about violence and break ins, I think that the police have taken that into cosideration and would not allow the festival if our village would be in a extreme danger. As Ms Vanessa, chief of the police, said there should be enough police officers (600), uniformed as well as ununiformed. Therefore I think we should put our worries about the violence behind us and start thinking about how this festival is going to help our village.
Now, as the festival would probably take part on my land, I would like to talk about the rules, security, fencing, cleanliness and other arrangements.
Firstly I want to say that if the festival is going to take part on Manor land, then fencing has to be provided all around the Manor House and the Castle, as it is a historical monument. I would also want bins and 5000, no less, mobile toilets because I am aware of a river that is crossing my land and know that it would damage the river if the fans would ‘do their thing’ in it.
For the fans safety and health, I would suggest banning glass bottles, as Mr Sufyaan (Department of Environment) had suggested already and also not allowing any campfires on the campsite land or anywhere else. As for health I would support the idea of a first aid tent with doctors, because although everyone will do as much as they can to prevent any violence, we cannot believe, there isn’t going to be any.
I am well aware that local residents, such as Mrs Lip Yee, are afraid and do not want fans wondering around the village. Therefore I fully support the idea, of our Local Council, about the siren tags. But I just want to say, that you cannot expect fans to agree with that, because they will be coming here from all over Europe (and the world) to enjoy themselves and certainly would not like to be enclosed in a festival area, almost like in a prison.

Although I understand all the difficulties a pop festival could give us, I will, for sure, fully support the pop festival-taking place in our village.
Thank you for listening to me and giving me the opportunity to present my ideas and opinions.

Thank You
