3 čo by som nakúpil na party

1.picture/ Describe the picture

What is your favourite place to buy the foodstuff? What do you like to buy the most?

Actually I do not like shopping. I hate walking along supermarkets or hypermarkets. I usually do not buy any food. The only shops I am interested in are shops with electronics and technical things and of course car shops.

I can spend there hours. If I could I would buy there a lot of things, but they are expensive. Last time I bought special computer components …. Povedz čo

2.

What do you think about shopping possibilities in our country and abroad?

I think there are not great differences today. We can buy everything, good and not very good goods. What you need is money. We can buy food as fruit, vegetables, meat, milk or bread in small shops or in the shopping centres or malls. We usually do our shopping in local shops in the towns and villages where we live every day. We often buy other things – newspapers, cigarettes or sweets close to our home at the nearest corner shops. There are still individual shops where people like shopping. For example: baker’s, butcher’s, shoe shops, newsagent’s, grocer’s, green – grocer’s, book shops, florist’s, pet shops, etc.

Today many families have a big freezer at home and like buying things weekly or some products once a month. They can do their shopping in the supermarkets or hypermarkets. This kind of shopping is more suitable for people who have a car. Ready prepared meals are popular with people who do not have time to cook and prepare them in their microwave oven.

What do you understand under the consumer and commercial society?

This kind of society is a society in which material goods are very important, the consumers themselves are very important. It is the fact of modern life. People like shopping and the buy more items / goods than they need.

Do you think the importance of services will grow in the next years? Why?

There are a lot of kinds of services all over the world as well as in our country. There are still some differences between services in our country and for example in Great Britain. We have daily deliveries of post, newspapers or some food / pizza. Repairmen also called ‘odd job men’, electricians, gardeners, window or domestic cleaners, painters, decorators or plumbers are often advertised their services. But there are also services like: car repairs, shoe repairs, laundry and laundrettes, hairdressers and so on. I think that the importance of services will continuously grow because human work has to be specified. We will not have much time to do everything. We will have to rely on the other people work.

3. Simulation:

Some flowers or birthday decorations are needed. Please, deliver my order to the address: D.H Kosice

Study
Učiteľstvo – názory, uniformy, štúdium v zahraničí – kde, prečo; ideálna škola

1. Would you like to be a teacher? If yes, what would you like to teach? If no, why not?

No, of course not. I wouldn’t like to. I think it is a very difficult job and what’s worse not well – paid job. I can say it because my both parents are teachers. More over Slovak teachers are not satisfied. They want better conditions. They need new books, teaching materials, technical equipments like computers for better teaching. It is a pity The Slovak Government can’t realize the importance of having the educated nation and the fact that teachers and doctors are very important for our society. But If I had to teach I would like to teach Physical Training and Computer Sciences / Techniques. I like sport activities and computers.

2. What do you think “an ideal school” should be like?

You may expect I will tell you the best school is no school. But the older I am the more difficult is to say that. I know that the education is very important for my future career. And “an ideal school?” I would change some rules. For example I can imagine the school without any school marks. Sometimes the marks are the greatest problem. Students and pupils are stressed and afraid of having bad ones. On the other side that’s true that marks are the best motivation to be better. I think that school education could be more practical. We should be prepared for the future career, for the university study. Sometimes we have to memorize a lot of stupid things. The alternative school education might be fine. And I think teacher could understand the problem of young generation.

Do you find any advantages and disadvantages in wearing the school uniform?

I know that a lot of students in other countries i.e. Great Britain or the USA must wear the school uniforms. I think the most important advantage is that there is no difference between the poor and the rich. What is important is student’s personality. I think that boys don’t mind it but the girls like fashion and they couldn’t show their new clothes. The other disadvantage can be that you would need more than one suit and it is not cheap. Who would pay it? The school? I wouldn’t like to wear any school uniform. I like wearing jeans and T – shirts; it is more comfortable.

What do you think the minimum school leaving age should be? And why?

It is difficult to say. I know that in our country there is 10 years compulsory school attendance. I think it is not enough for young people to live alone without their parents, to pay for their living, for a flat and food and other needs. Young people need more education and there is necessary to have good job to be independent. The age of 16 is not enough; maybe 18 could be fine. It means secondary education should be compulsory.

3. Simulation

It is not very simple to talk about the best kind of English program. I think that the best choice could be to study or live in one of the English – speaking countries. This way of learning is a little expensive and not available a possible for everybody. But if I could choose any English class at home, I would choose the class of 10 or 12 students at the age of 19 or 20. I would prefer more conversation or face - to - face dialogues. Books are important as well as and video, films, music and games are welcome.

Jobs
1. picture – What’s the man doing? Do you know what’s his job called? How much money do you think he earns? He earns {not} enough money, too much, average

2. What are the reasons for changing the job?

Many young people can study what they want or are interested in. Later some of them can choose their own future career, they are lucky. But many people must do the job they are offered. They aren’t satisfied and are always changing their jobs. The main reasons are:

Bad working conditions

Not enough money / bad salary

Unpleasant and intolerant boss or colleagues

Inefficient working time, you have to work too long

Sometimes you have to move to other place, the city for example because of getting married

You can be redundant or laid off, so you became unemployed

What is … the being … interesting / dangerous / exciting job?

There are a lot of kinds of jobs which we can divide into mental and physical [manual] works. Some of them are more interesting or exciting and others are less. It is not possible to say which of them are interesting, exciting or dangerous. It is different. For example for some boys to be a pilot, fireman or policeman can be exciting, but for their mothers dangerous. To work in rescue team can be dangerous, too. Imagine you work in the mountains or near the sea.

What do you imagine under the word work holism?

Workaholic is a man who loves his job and he doesn’t want to do anything else. He works from morning till evening and forgets to eat and forgets the life itself. I think that it is fine to have a good job and do it perfectly but to do some hobbies or go to the country and enjoy sport activities is very important, too.
