Hobbies, Free Time and Lifestyle
Leisure time can be defined as the time in which people do not have to work, time when they can fo whatever they like, it is time of entertainment and fun. If you ask people about their hobbies, some of them will tell you they cannot draw a line between their job and free time, for them their profession in their hobby and they are ready to spend nearly all their free time at work. Psychologists claim that i tis not good if you do not get enough relaxation and people whose hobby is different from their profession are much happier because they switch to a new activitz in their leisure time which is beneficial for them. They are more efficient when they start working again.
Tehre is a wide renge of leisure activiteis one may choose from. If you work indoor and spend most of your time sittong and doing papre work, zou would probablyneed some physical activitty, e. g. playing a ball game like football or volleyball, going camping, fishing or hiking. If your job involes a lot of physical actvity, you would probalbly want to spend your free time at home readinf books or magazines, watching T or video or playing boar games sucha s chess or scrable.
Older people who are maried and have families, may choose useful leisure activities like gardening, foing repairs, decorating the house, car maintenance or plumbing. Manual work brings them ralaxation. When they manage something, paint the window frames or repair the roof they have a sense of achievement.
Young people are keen on sport activities, especially for boys they are numbers one. Boys spend a lot of time playinf football, basketball, tennis or table tennis. In winter ice hockey is very popular. Girls choose gymanstics, athletics or swimming. At present many young people go to fitness centres to be slim and to keep fit.
A lot of people enjoy arts and, in their free time go in for amateur painting, drawing, singing and dramatics. For many people the most popular art from in music, tehy listen to it at work, at home, and even when driving. It is quite common to see young people walking down teh street with headsets on. Many teenagers take music lessons as they want to learn to play a musical instument. Those who love pop music often start to play the guitar or the drums and decide to found a band, maybe an amateur rock band. They spend leisure time on practising several times a week to be able to give concerts to large audiences.
Whatever your hobby is, as long as you like it and devote much time to it helps you relax and brings you a lot of pleasure.
