Development od Science and Technology

Scientists are trying to acquuire knowledge of the physical world. Scientists study only the physical world, because they can learn about it using their five senses, like seeing and hearing. They often use scientific instruments, like a telescope and a stethoscope thet can make their senses more powerful.

Another aspect of science that´s distinctive is that it always tries to ask questions that can be they would want to ask the question „Why does the universe exist?“ because they would never be able to perform an experiment to decide. This doesn´t mean that this isn´t good question to ask , it just means that you can´t use science to try to think about the answer. A more scientific question might be „When did the universe come into existence? Because you could design experiments to tes the answer.

This reveals another characteristic of scince – it usually involves doing an experiment. In science, your experiment has to be repeatable. If a scientist perform an experiment under a set of conditions and gets a certain result if he/she uses the same conditions as the first scientist. Scientists generally share their results with each other and the rest of the world. Their work isn´t considered true knowledge if only one scientist can produce the result.

Recently, some people have been questioning whether all these characteristics accurately describe science. Do all sciences really use the same method? For example, aren´t astronomers, who use their senses but don´t directlu detect the particles they´re studing even using very powerful instruments? And don´t other people besides scientists also use experiments?

These are all important question, ehich may be difficult to find a single answer to. But asking question is an essential part of finding knowledge, in everyday life as well as in science.
