There are many places no the Earth which I would be glad to visit but the one that fascinates me the most is definitely New York, and not only for this great world-known song of Frank Sinatra. New York City is the biggest town of America and is situated in the state of New York. The capital of the state of New York is Albany, but hardly anyone knows that. But everyone know New York City, which is called here the Big Apple. It seems that nobody knows why. N.Y. consist of five main parts - Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island. The best known is Manhattan. The Americans say that you can`t live in New York, but 9 million inhabitants deny it. With the suburbs N.Y. has 16 million inhabitants. New York differs from other America quite a lot, but at the same time America is the only country where it may happen. You are fascinated by names. You are dancing along Broadway among slovakia-the-people/" class="wiki-link" title="Viac o: the people">the people coming from performances of the most famous musicals and theatre shows. New York is showing off again. It tries to shock you and it seems to suceed. Lots of illuminated billboards in Times Square where everything finishes and starts. On 5th Avenue you like all the storefront which offer goods without prices. With your head upward, you are looking for the tops of scyscrapers. You would like to climb, like King Kong, the Empire State Building, which is still the most famous scyscraper in the world, but there are better ways. Two minutes by elevator and you are on the 102nd floor. You can`t see the dirt of the earthy paradise. Over there you can see the Pan Am scyscraper and over the United Nations building. In N.Y. you can visit all the countries of the world. The greek New York in Queens, the German and Hungarian ones in Yorkville. After all there used to be Little Czechoslovakia. The indian New York can be found on 28th street, the Japanese one in the very centre of Manhattan. In New York is simply everyone - Russians, Scandinavians, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, South Americans, Ukrainians and Poles. They preserve their customs, culture, they eat national dishes and a lot of them don`t speak English at all. New York, the Big Apple, has been created neither by God nor by the devil. It has been created by the man and his hand has been led by Heaven and Hell at the same time.
