Jack the Rippe

'Jack the Ripper' is the popular name given to a serial killer who killed a number of prostitutes in the East End of London in 1888.'The name originates from a letter written by someone who claimed anglictina/sloveso-byt-to-be/" class="wiki-link" title="Viac o: to be">to be the killer published at the time of the murders. The killing took place whithin a mile area and involved the districts of Whitechapel, Spitalfields, Aldgate, and the city of London proper. He was also called the Whitechapel Murderer. The original evidence gathered at the tome has been lost, and many 'facts' are actually opinions by the various writers who have written about the case during the past century. Jack was not the first serial killer, but he was the first who apeared in a large metropolis at the time when the general populace had become literate and the press was a force for social change. He may have been a sexual serial killer of a time all too common in the 1990s, but he was also bent on terrifying a city and making the whole world teke notice of him by leaving his horribly mutilated victims in plain sight. Lastly, the Ripper was never caught and it is the mystery this killer that both add to the romance of the story and creating a intellectual puzzle that people still want to solve. It is unclear how many women the Ripper killed. It is generaly accepted thet he killed five- but this number oscilate between four and seven and more. All of his accepted victims were prostitues and were killed early August and early November 1888. All of them were killed outdoors and there is no evidence to suggest that any of them knew each other. They varied in age and appearance. Most were drunk or thought to be drunk at the time they were killed. He seized the women by their throats and and strangled them until they were unconscious or dead. Then he cut the throats while they were on ground. Usaly he took a piece of victim viscera. Most believed is that he had to have some degree of anatomical knowledge to do what he did. In one case he removed kidney from the front and did not damage any of the surrounding organs while doing so. In another case he removed the sexual organs with one clean stoke of the knife. None of the letters which were purported to be written by him were in fact written by him. In a time before forensic science and even finger printig, the only way to prove someone commited a crime was to catch him in the act, or get the suspect to confess. And so in the end police never charged any suspect with the murders commited by the Ripper. They had got three names of top suspects, but the police didn't have sufficient evidence. And so the case of Jack Ripper is still fascinating after more then a hundred years, and a lot of books were written, and the case of Jack the Ripper remains a mystery.
