We started enjoying Christmas time on 24th December, but people usually buy gifts, food and all Christmas decoration a long time before Christmas. They send a lot of Christmas postcards with the wishes to their friends, family-home-relatives/" class="wiki-link" title="Viac o: relatives">relatives or business partners. Everybody decorates his (her) house flat, garden or fence. There are candled everywhere : on the table, in the windows, in the shopwindows, in the churches, on the branches of the trees. Especially children like decorating the Christmas tree. 24th December : 24th December is famous for Christmas Eve. On this day people prepare things for a big dinner since early morning. Some families eat nothing all day long, they like eating just for a dinner. The religious people visit the church, because of a special mass tree. We start to have a Christmas dinner about 5.30 p.m. Before eating we pray for a while, we read some stores from the Bible and we have a glass of the alcohol. We tinkle with the glasses and wish Merry Christmas to each other. Then we have a dinner, which consist of a few courses. We used to have rolls with milk and curd for the started. Then we have a special cabbage soup with sausages, mushrooms and potatoes. The last course is a carp and potato salad. Finally we eat nuts and fruits. We have dried and fresh fruits. We finishing our eat with a waffle and honey. After eating we take the gifts which are under the Christmas tree. Everybody is happy and enjoying the gifts and the calm of this festive evening. At midnight some people used to go to church again. These people are Catholics.
25th December :
25th December is Christmas Day. On this day people have the big lunch and visit the church, because of the special praying. Children sing the Christmas carols, especially in the villages. They visit the many households where they sing these carols and wish a Happy New Year and all best. 26th December : 26th December is also a special day. People don’t work, they stay at home or go to the church or visit relatives and friends. They enjoy the end of Christmas.
