E-mail comes from two words, electronic and mail. It’s the second most used service in the Internet and it’s more comfortable than post for their speed. Many people in the world use e-mail for sending text messages, pictures, video and audio files and many more. We can use free-mails or mailbox from internet providers. E-mail communication is relatively dangerous, because many viruses, worms, trojans, SPAM existing there.
FREE
Mails provide free-mail servers. It’s place, where we can create email account for free. For example in slovak language: <a href="http://www.pobox.sk,">www.pobox.sk,</a> <a href="http://www.centrum.sk,">www.centrum.sk,</a> <a href="http://www.zoznam.sk">www.zoznam.sk</a> and other, in english: <a href="http://www.yahoo.com,">www.yahoo.com,</a> <a href="http://www.msn.com,">www.msn.com,</a> <a href="http://www.aol.com">www.aol.com</a> and many more. On their www sites you fill in register form, your name, surname, address, your age, which are called personal data. Some companies can request to fill in your interests, but be careful which interest you select. You can receive unasked mails which are called SPAM.
Advantages of FREE-Mails are :
it’s totaly free it’s easily accessible it doesn’t need to set you can create many accounts
Disadvantage of FREE-Mails :
need to be connected to internet limited mailbox capacity you can’t use all services
Emails from internet providers. As the title says, it’s provided by internet providers. When you sign a contract about internet connection, the provider gets you a free mailbox on his server. Than you need to install Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express and configure it for receiving and sending emails. For receiving and sending messages you needn’t login to server, but only start MS Outlook and income or send mails and that read all mails than you receive. Usually you receive a mailbox in form: name@provider.sk.
As the name you can choose your real name or your nickname. The provider name you can’t change. In the end of email address is state code. Best-know providers in Slovakia are Chello, Slovak Telecom, Nextra, Antik, in the world for example in Germany, Deutsche Telecom, in England, Wanadoo, and other.
Advantages :
it’s free but you must sign the internet connection contract unlimited mailbox capacity (in same providers only ) you can use all services you don’t need to be connected to internet
Disadvantages :
you need to install MS Outlook or MS Outlook Express
you can use only one account, in same case you can use more accounts but it’s fee-based service
SPAM
SPAM is unasked massive sending emails to mailbox. It’s dangerous, because it decreases mailbox capacity, includes viruses, trojans and worms which can decrease internet speed, computer speed till damage our computer. We need to use an antivirus that knowshow to communicate with email client and so protects mailbox an computer from SPAM and viruses.
Sending and receiving email Sending email from FREE-mail account is easy. For the first you need to login on FREE-mail server, fill your nickname, password and then click to “login” or “OK”. Now you are in the main menu. Choose a new message and than you can write. Fill the recipient address, message subject and now text which you can write. Between message subject and text window you can find button “attachment”. As attachment you can add pictures, video file, music file or some text file. In the end of the page you can find button “send”.
After you have controled your message you can click to “send” and wait few minutes till the email will be sent. Receiving is faster action than sending message. In main menu you click to “receivng message”, than, if you receive some email, click on email which you want to read. After the email was opened you can read it.
Sending an email by email client as MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express is easy too. In windows you click on MS Outlook icon and wait until it opened to main menu. Now you can click to “new message” or “write message”. In the opened window, fill recipient address, message subject and to text window write some text. After that you can click to “send message”. For receiving message, in main menu, click to “send/receive mails”. When a client download some email you can click on it and read.
Result Electronic mail is extended most quickly.It is more popular than classical mail, because it is faster and cheaper than classic post. One big disadvantage is that you can’t send real gifts and things that we can catch however the mail delivery takes few seconds to minutes.
